Enlistment Place: Antwerp, Michigan  Enlisted as a Corporal on 5 October 1861 
at the age of 33.  Enlisted in Company H, 13th Infantry Regiment Michigan on 
17 Jan 1862. Promoted to Full Sergeant on 1 Aug 1862. Discharged on 28 Jul 
1865 at Detroit, MI.
