Kingsley) BY HENRIETTA CLARKE-ZANK GRANDFATHER'S PARENTS Father: Ira Kingsley Occupation : Plumber Gas Fitter Cause of Death: When a young man, he died from a broken blood vessel in Buffalo, New York Mother: Susanna Babcock-(Kingsley)Crandall She was a house wife and a weaver. She was born in 1791 in Massachusetts and died in 1861, at the age of 70 years. She died of bloody dysentery at the home of her daughter, Betsy Weaver in Cassopolis, Michigan. Grandfather Kingsley was still living in New York State. GRANDFATHERS KINGSLEY'S BROTHERS AND SISTERS William D. Kingsley was born at Truxton, New York, on March 24, 1822, and passed away at Cedar Springs, Michigan, July 4, 1898 at the age of 76 years. He was the oldest of six children. He died at our home on Park Street. Ira Kingsley was born in New York State and lived to an old age. He was a farmer. Betsy Kingsley-Weaver, was born in New York State, and died on their farm home in Pierson Township which was located where Sydney Bergman is today on Newcosta, at the end of our 136th Street. Uncle Weaver passed away a short time before Aunt Betsy. Their farm is also the present Dodge-Giddings home. Hattie Dodge and husband Jasper "Jap" cared for them, in their old age. Aunt Betsy had three daughters. Hattie Weaver Dodge. Lettie Crandall who married her cousin Eugene Crandall. They had one son. Verne Crandall of Detroit. Nettie Weaver Shannon married Will Shannon. She was the mother of Dick Ferris and his sister Ida Ferris by a first marriage. They came out to Sylvis's and spent a week while I was with her in California. I knew Dick before he came out there as he was often at the Dodge home. He married Jap's sister at Howard City. I got better acquainted with Ida and enjoyed her very much. They died with Glen and Mary at the Lamont Nursing Home. John V. Crandall was a half brother of Grandfather Kingsley. He was born in Courtland County, New York, on October 27, 1931. He died on the Crandall Farm in Ensley, Michigan. He had cancer of the Stomach. Sarah (Sally) Ann Crandall-Schellenger was born July 24,1826, and died March 1,1852 at the age of 25 years, and 7 months, and 5 days, in Seneca County, New York. She had typhoid fever. Sally Ann's little daughter Elizabeth Jennett Schellenger died five years before her mother in the year 1847. Sally Ann Crandall had a son whose daughter was born, Mary Lovina Schellenger, in New York state when our mother was eight years old. Mary was born in 1873. Jerome B. Crandall was born in New York State. He was a butcher by trade. He lived to an old age. He was a farmer. He had a son Jonnie Crandall of Kentucky, whose picture is in the family album. Uncle Jerome died with cancer of the throat. STEP FATHER Asa Crandall was born in the year 1774 and died in 1746, at the age of 72 years. He lived in Cortland County and died there in New York State.
