Tyrone Township, District No. 1 School- 1879

              The Tyrone Township, District No. 1 School in 1879 Began the 1879 
had Herbert Everett and Anna Leacy as teachers.  Miss Anna Leacy was my great, 
great Uncle George White’s first and favorite teacher, and we have her picture 
in the White family photo album. The family story goes that she became ill and 
was unable to continue teaching. The financial records for the district show 
that Miss Leacy signed two teaching contracts for both 1878 and 1879 and was 
paid for both. The marriage index for Kent County shows that she married John 
Warren between 1883 and 1886.
