Bessemer Herald March 9, 1895
Nathaniel Rice, sheriff of Kent County, died of typhoid fever after a three 
weeks' illness.  Mr. Rice was elected on the Republican ticket last fall and 
had held the office less than two months.  He was a wealthy farmer.
