CAVANAUGH (Cedar Springs)- Mr. Arthur J. Cavanaugh, aged 85, went home to be
with the Lord on Sunday, November 28, 2004. He was a farmer at heart: but to
make ends meet, he drove a truck for Michigan Milk Producers and later worked
for Kroger for 25 years-then he once again returned to farming an worked for
many neighborhood farmers. He loved his John Deere tractor and his Dodge pickup,
and always thought if something was broke, he could fix it. Along with his wife,
Gerry, he loved to fish, especially for walleye. Mr. Cavanaugh's granddaughter
thought that her grandpa wa the wisest man she knew. He is survived by his wife,
; his children; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren plus the much anticipated arrival 
of one more;mother-in-law; in-laws; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by
his first wife, Dorthy in 1951; a granddaughter, Kozan Cavanaugh; parents,
Arthur and Alma Cavanaugh; and brothers, Gaylord and Keith. The services for Mr.
Cavanaugh will be Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Rockford Reformed Church
with the Rev. Rick Tigchon officiating. Interment in Courtland Twp. Cemetery.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of
Greater Grand Rapids.
