OLD RESIDENT PASSED AWAY LAST FRIDAY

C.A. DURFEY, aged 72y, an old resident of this village, passed away at his home in
this village last 
Friday morning after a prolonged illness. Mr. DURFEY had been confined to his bed
for several weeks 
although his passing came as a great shock to his many friends in this vicinity. 

Mr. DURFEY was a successful farmer in Nelson Twp for many years. He moved to Cedar
Springs several 
years ago where he has since made his home. Besides the widow, he leaves three
daughters: Mrs. 
Sidney DeGRAW of this village; Mrs. Ray HOUGH of Nelson Twp; Mrs. Clyde ANNIS of
Grand Rapids; and 
one son, Wilbur DURFEY, also of Nelson Twp. 

Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church in this village Monday
afternoon and were 
conducted by Reverend ARCHER. Interment was made in East Nelson Cemetery.
