She was united in Holy Matrimony to Cyrus Albert DURFEY in the month of April 1876 at Greenville, later moving to Cedar Springs, where they have since resided. Six children were born to this union, four of whom survive, Mrs. Ethel ANNIS, of Greenville; Mrs. Grace HOUGH, Wilbur, and Florence DURFEY of [this] village. The deceased leaves, besides her four children, a bereaved husband, three grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Esther CORNWELL and Mrs. Stella Mae BUSH. Mrs. DURFEY was a woman of splendid character and those who had the privilege of knowing her feel they are better for her having lived. She had been ill for the past few years, but displayed great Christian fortitude during her suffering. The husband and family have the sympathy of the entire community, who mourn with them. (Obituary is followed by the words to a hymn or poem entitled, "One More in Heaven," and a card of thanks from "C.A. DURFEY and children".)
