He underwent surgery and uremia developed, causing his death. He was born here Feb. 8, 1873. His parents were John and Mary Bower Holliday. March 2, 1898, he married Maud Miller, how passed away in 1946. Mr. holliday was a farmer. The family had lived in their present home, south of Cedar Springs, 25 years, and it was one of the attractive, spacious country homes of the community. Mr. Holliday was always a hard worker, and thrift was one of his mottoes. He had built up a prosperous fruit farm of which he was proud. The death of his wife in 1946 was a shock and sorrow from which he never recovered, and his health had failed gradually since that time. Rev. H. O. Van Gilder Jr. conducted the funeral services tuesday at Walshes chapel, and Mr. Holliday was buried in Solon cemetery. He is survived by 2 children, Mrs. Don Bowen of Cedar Springs and Elmer Holliday of Wyandotte; by a brother, Frant Holliday of Cedar Springs; and by 5 grandchildren.
