Magoon, aged 86 went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 11, 2002. Mrs. Magoon attended Grace Evangelical Free Church and was a member of the Edgerton Sewing Circle. She was a 1934 graduate of Rockford High School, where she was an honor student. In addition to being a wife and mother she worked in the cafeteria at Rockford Public Schools following the death of her husband, Willis "Til" Magoon in 1972. Prior to that she provided transportation to school for special need students in her green 4 door 1946 Chevrolet. Mrs. Magoon was the neighborhood baby sitter and was referred to as "Grandma Magoon". Crocheting, making afghans for all her family reading and going to the Mackinaw Bridge were some of her favorite things to do. She was faithful to her family and friends, leaving a legacy of faithfulness. The service of Praise and Thanksgiving to God for the salvation provided Mrs. Magoon through Jesus Christ will be Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Grace Evangelical Free Church, with Pastor Rob Baker officiating. Interment in Algoma Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Cancer Society or Michigan Heart Association. Relatives and friends may celebrate Mrs., Magoon's life with her family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
