Y., on August 8th, 1856. She came to Michigan with her parents when eight years old, the settled in Ensley, where she has always made her home and was living thee at the time of her death. On August 17, 1873 she was united in marriage to Wesley O. Stoddard, of Cedar Springs who died in 1901. In early life she was baptized and became a member of the Baptist church of Cedar Springs, later she withdrew her name and entered the Ensley Baptist church of which she has been a life long member. She was of a jolly disposition and a kind hearted and loving aunt and sister. She will be remembered to her many friends of Sand Lake and vicinity for her faithful services she rendered to their families as a nurse. She was ill only fifteen minutes, being stricken with apoplexy while visiting at the home of her sister-in-law Mrs. Martha Phillips in Cedar Springs, departing this life August 21, 1920. She leaves to morn their loss a brother, Norman Kingsley of the Solders Home, Grand Rapids, two Sisters, Mrs. August Eyer of Whitter, California and Mrs. Adam Clarke of Solon; also seven nephews and three nieces, one of her nieces, Mrs. Chas. Zank with whom she lived. Funeral Services were held at the Ensley M. E. church on August 24th at 1:00 o'clock conducted by Rev. Geo. H. Lockhart, interment was made in the Crandall cemetery. Phoebe J. Stoddard Phoebe J. Kingsley-Stoddard was born in Berkshire, Tioga County, New York, Aug. 8, 1856. She came to Michigan in 1865. In 1873 was married to Wesley O. Stoddard, who died in 1901. For a number of years both were members of the Baptist church in Cedar Springs. She had been visiting her sister-in-law Mrs. Martha Phillips and attended the Chautauqa and on her way home complained of illness and died soon after of reaching it, about 20 minutes, of heart failure, Aug, 22. She leaves one brother, Norman Kingsley, and two sisters, 3 nieces, and two nephews, besides other relatives, friends and neighbors, who will greatly miss her kind and genial manner. She was a general favorite of all and will be long remembered by all with whom she was associated. The funeral was held in the M. E. church Solon, conducted by Rev. Geo H. Lockheart, Aug. 24, at 1 p. m. and was very largely attended. A score of autos followed her remains to the Crandall cemetery for burial. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. A good woman has gone to the home above. dz
