He passed away at St. Mary's hospital after a lingering illness at 4 o'clock in the morning. He was taken to the hospital Sunday. For many months he had fought a losing fight against illness, and although friends knew he could not get well, his death came as a shock and sorrow. Born September 14, 1885, on the Solon township farm, the son of Robert and Emogene Winegar, he had spent all of his life on the home place. For 22 years he was employed by the Hyman furniture Company of Grand Rapids, but always maintained his home n Solon. He was prominently identified with the Farmers Union, and took an active interest in local affairs until illness prevented. He was a man held in high regard by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at Solon Center Methodist Church at 2:30 Friday after noon and burial will be in the Solon cemetery. The Walsh Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Winegar is survived by the widow, Mable; a brother Robert Fay Winegar of Grand Rapids; a nephew, Fred Winegar of Rockford; a niece, Mrs Marvel Taft of Cedar Springs; and other relatives.
