Col John Spafford was one of the Green Mountain Boys with Ethan Allen. Phebe married 05 Feb 1820 Edward Stevenson (1781-1843), and they had 8 children. The oldest, Edward A Stevenson, was appointed Territorial Governor of Idaho at the same time as his brother Charles Clark Stevenson was the Governor of Nevada. Sons Hiram (Lois) and William (Hattie) farmed in Alpine, Kent County, Michigan. Daughters Mary and Adelaide married Norman and Nelson Cummings of Englishville, Kent County, Michigan. Phebe was the second wife of Edward Stevenson - her step-son, John Stevenson, was the first Speaker of the Ontario Legislature in Canada.
