Civil War Veteran; Private, Enlisted @ 30 Yrs. Old, in the 1st Michigan 
Engineers and Mechanics, in Pontiac, MI, on 04 Jan 1865.  Mustered out on 15 
May 1865 @ Hart Island, New York Harbor, after serving 4 1/2 months.
