He was born 15 January 1830 in Genesee, New York. Adelaide (Addie) Stevenson 1836-1931. She was born 04 July 1836 in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, and died in Melborne Beach, Florida. A half-brother, John Stevenson, was the first speaker of the Ontario legislature after confederation. Her brother Edward A Stevenson was territorial governor of Idaho at the same time (1890) as her brother Charles C Stevenson was governor of Nevada. Her sister Mary married Norman Cumings, and her brothers Hiram & William farmed in Alpine township, Kent County. In 1922, her son Willard L Cumings published the story of the Cumings and Stevenson families in "Two Michigan Pioneers."
