Slayton, Chester M. 
s. of Russell and Berthena; b. Dec.26, 1834 in Yates Co.,N.Y; d. Apr.18,1916; 
enlisted Aug.10, 1862 in Co. B, 25th Mich. Vol. Inf., was discharged July 13, 
1865. While he was in the south serving his country his wife was at home
