Jack "Sarge" McClellan 1916-1998 - Jack Henry McClellan, 82, of Baldwin, 
died Sept. 24, at home following a long illness. Jack was born April 30, 
1916, in Milwaukee, Wisc. to William and Maude (Martin) McClellan. he 
married Olga Trucks on Feb. 15, 1952, and she preceded him in death on 
July 6, 1989. he came to Michigan as a young man with his family. he 
first served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II 
in the South Pacific, and re-enlisted where he served in the U.S. Army 
during the Korean Conflict and later as part of an Expeditionary Force 
in Viet Nam, retiring as a sergeant first class in July, 1966. Following 
retirement, he worked for NASA in the Apollo Program. Here, he worked as 
a welder with Guy Lee and in his own shop until he retired. Jack was a 
member of the Baldwin Congregational Church, and Peacock Post 5315 VFW. 
He is survived by two sons, Mac (Michelle) McClellan, of Baldwin, and 
Mark McClellan, of Harrison; five grandchildren; one brother, William 
(Marion) McClellan; and one niece. He was preceded in death by his 
parents; and his wife, Olga. Services were held Saturday, Sept. 26, at 
the Vida Funeral Home, in Baldwin with Rev. Susan Webeler officiating. 
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial 
contributions to the Scottville Clown Band, or Mercy Amicare Home Care 
and Hospice, 7985 Mackinaw Trail, Suite 100, Cadillac, MI 49601. 
Envelopes are available at the Vida Funeral Home, which was in charge
of arrangements.
