 Geo. Vance Passes Away,
 
        Geo. VANCE, well known in this community, died at the home of his
 daughter, Mrs. Floyd Galloway, Sunday after suffering from the effects of a
 stroke.  Mr. Vance was born in Blenun, Ont., in 1848, and at the age of 22
 was married to Sarah E. MORDEN, of Berbile, Ont., in 1871.  Thirteen years
 later they came to Michigan, where they have since made their home.  To
 this union, eight children were born, six of whom are living: Mrs. John
 MOYER of Alberta, Mrs. Geo. COLLINS of Port Huron, Mrs. Abe KELCH of
 Pontiac, Mrs. Floyd GALLOWAY of North Branch, Geo. VANCE of Clifford, and
 James VANCE of North Branch.  Mr. VANCE was a member of the Gleaner Order
 of Silverwood for the past 28 years.  Besides his wife and children, Mr.
 VANCE leaves a host of friends to mourn his loss.
