Published in the Record-Eagle on 10/20/2006. Andersen, Kealee E. ANN ARBOR — Kealee Elizabeth Andersen, three years old, passed away unexpectedly Oct. 18, 2006, at CS Mott Children's Hospital at the U of M Medical Center in Ann Arbor. Kealee entered this world bringing joy to many on May 20, 2003, to parents, Christian and Julie (Reynolds) Andersen, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. True to her name, Kealee began as a warrior even before birth, overcoming the odds time and time again. Kealee grew into a beautiful little girl with bright eyes. In between the many struggles Kealee faced, she entertained those around her with her insatiable attitude for life. She would find music in most anything she did, whether dancing, singing, improvising instruments or conducting right along to a favorite song. Kealee enjoyed taking golf cart rides with her Grandpa and Grandma Reynolds or spending time at the lake with Grandpa and Grandma Andersen, reading her beloved books. Kealee also showed an early interest in geology, collecting, inspecting and analyzing most any rock she would come across. She was seldom without "pink," one of many famed blankets, or her friends, Pooh and Elmo. But what was most amazing, were the deep and enriching relationships she made with so many in her short three years. Kealee will be greatly missed by many, but most of all, her caring parents that spent time watching her catch snowflakes and raindrops on her eyelids and cleaning out sand from her hair. Kealee is survived by loving parents, Chris and Julie Andersen; her infant brother, Mackenzie "Mack" Andersen, all of Interlochen; maternal grandparents, Lance and Debbie Reynolds of Interlochen; paternal grandparents, Richard and Holly Andersen of Empire; uncle, Luke (Kym) Reynolds of Grawn; great- grandparents, Robert Smith, Doris Reynolds and Jack (Avis) Mills; as well as several other loving and caring family members and friends. Kealee was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Helen Smith; great- grandfather, C.W. Reynolds; and great-grandparents, Paul and Violet Andersen. Funeral services for young Kealee will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, where visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial and committal services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Empire. Memorial contributions may be directed to Child and Family Life, c/o Five East, CS Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor. Memorial envelopes will be available. The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home; www.reynolds- jonkhoff.com. Published in the Record-Eagle on 10/22/2006.
