Greg was born in Kalamazoo on July 30, 1959, the son of Richard F. and Carolyn A. (Curtis) Chormann. Following graduation from Gull Lake High School, Greg attended Ferris State (College) University. He served our country honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1982 through 1986. An avid outdoorsman, it was in the woods where Greg found his greatest enjoyment and peace. In addition to hunting deer in Michigan for over 30 years, he successfully hunted elk in Colorado and Montana. He enjoyed his extensive workshop and used his creative skills in projects both large and small. Greg's talents were also allowing him to develop his electrical service business, Chormann Electric, where he particularly enjoyed working on large commercial projects. Greg enjoyed sharing his outdoor activities with his son and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Greg is survived by his son, Gregory A. Chormann Jr. of Traverse City; by his parents, Richard and Carolyn Chormann of Empire; his brother, James R. Chormann of Ladera Ranch, Calif.; his sister, Cynthia L. (Jon) Hann of Fairfax, Va.; his nephews and nieces, Matthew and Christina Chormann of Ladera Ranch, Calif., and Kimberly, Connor and Caitlyn Hann of Fairfax, Va. Greg is also survived by his special friend, Patty Perry of Traverse City; and by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frederick and Anna Chormann and Vaughn and Helen Curtis; and by his son's mother, Laura Reyes. Visitation will take place for friends and family at the Reynolds- Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, on Wednesday evening, Aug. 25, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. Family services for Greg will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, also at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Homer Nye officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Empire. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to The Glen Lake Preservation Fund, P.O.
