Craven Died June 15, 2000 TRAVERSE CITY - Virginia C. Craven, 78, of Traverse City, died Thursday at Munson Medical Center. Born Aug. 22, 1921, in Greilickville, she was the daughter of Gilbert Peter and Pearl Jane (Davis) Warnes. On April 4, 1942, at the Court House in Leland, she married Warden Miles Craven. She is survived by two daughters, Sonja C. Craven of Traverse City and Deanna L. (Timothy) Noonan of Interlochen; a sister, Gertrude Cornell of Traverse City; a brother, Gilbert (Elsie) Warnes of Glen Arbor; three grandchildren, Derek Pahl, Dustin Pahl and Dolly Tokie; and four step- grandchildren, Dawn Lanham and Patrick, Kelly and Shannon Noonan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warden, in 1998; and an infant daughter, Vallerie. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City, with services led by her daughter Sonja. Friends may call the funeral home at the time of service. Burial will be in Empire Maple Grove. The family suggests that since Virginia loved flowers, flowers would be appropriate.
