Aylsworth Hentschel b. 26 Apr. 1953 d. 17 Feb. 2004 ------------------------------------- TRAVERSE CITY RECORD EAGLE --- 19 Feb. 2004 TRAVERSE CITY - Gladys B. 'Glady' Hentschel, 50, of Traverse City, died on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, from complications of multiple sclerosis. Glady was born in Dearborn on April 26, 1953, the daughter of Juanita (Stanley) and Glenn Aylsworth. She married Timothy Hentschel on July 27, 1979, in Traverse City. Glady had lived in the Empire and Traverse City areas for 48 years, and had also lived in Alaska for two years. In her early years, she was baptized and became a member of the Empire United Methodist Church. Most important in Glady's life were her children and grandchildren. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. She also adored animals, and had many over the years. She always wanted to be a nurse, and was close to accomplishing that goal when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Glady is survived by her husband, Tim; son, Sawyer Hentschel; daughters, Reagan and Loni Hentschel and Juanita Lynn (Troy) Thomas, all of Traverse City; her parents, Juanita (Bud) Shanks of Empire and Glenn (Jan) Aylsworth of Traverse City; brothers, G. Thomas Aylsworth of Glen Arbor, Warren Aylsworth of Maple City and Gregory Aylsworth of Curtis; five grandchildren, Logan, Ashley, Lauren and Kendra Thomas, and Ethan Hentschel; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vern and Ethel Stanley, and Alonzo and Gladys Aylsworth. Friends may call at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City this evening, Feb. 20, 2004, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services for Glady will be held at Empire United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Kay Coombs will officiate. Burial will take place in the spring, in Maple Grove Cemetery in Empire. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
