Shanda was a substitute teacher with the Traverse City Area Public Schools for a number of years and she also worked as a nanny caring for Brittany and Lexi, the children of Dave and Lori Wildfong. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and at the time of her death was working towards her teaching certificate. She was always proud of her college accomplishments, which include being on the Dean's list. Shanda enjoyed children, the time she spent at the beach, camping, traveling and her two loving dogs, Buster and Brown. Her passion was for perfection in life, mixed with humor. Her strength, dedication, determination and faith in God sustained her. Shanda was loved by many special friends, as well as her extended family. Shanda is survived by her mother, Joann Luginbill of Traverse City; her father, Kenneth Lloyd of Bellingham, Wash.; her sisters and brother, Pamela (Dave) Breithaupt of Traverse City, Kimberly (Kevin) Clifford of Marquette, Randy R. (Ouraiwan) Lloyd and Jacki L. Lloyd, all of Traverse City; three nieces, Kristine, Casey and Molly; her paternal grandmother, Esther Lloyd of Traverse City; several aunts and uncles, Wayne and Sandy McPhall of Alanson, Richard and Connie Walendowski of Traverse City, Steve and Linda Pardon of Bellington, Wash., and Charlene Gleason of Traverse City; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Kathryn Luginbill and Harold Luginbill; her paternal grandfather, Cecil Lloyd; her uncle, Mickey Lloyd; and two cousins, John Kuznair and Michael Lloyd. The Lloyd family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 13, at Central United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dean Bailey will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Thursday, June 13, at Empire Maple Grove Cemetery in Empire.
