Richardson Died Friday, March 5, 2004 GLEN ARBOR - Eugene Everett Richardson, 80, of Glen Arbor, died Friday at the Maple Valley Nursing Home in Maple City. A carpenter, Eugene lived most of his life in Glen Arbor. He was a 1941 graduate of Glen Arbor High School and served with the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of the Empire Masonic Lodge and a member of the Glen Lake Community Reformed Church. Eugene loved to travel and especially enjoyed watching local high school basketball teams. Born May 21, 1923, in Dodd County, Minn., he was the son of Homer and Henrietta (Baker) Richardson. In 1943, he married Mary Irene Sheridan, who died in January of 1980. On Feb. 5, 1984, he married Redeatha Gunnett, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Duane (Barbara) Richardson of Glen Arbor, and Dennis (Carol) Richardson of Bridgman; step-daughter, Lorna (John) Eickenroth of Kingsley; brother, James (Lorraine) Richardson of Cedar; sister, Mildred Stenhouse of Maple City; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Loren Richardson; grandson, Michael Richardson; and brother, Wayne Richardson. Memorial services are being planned to be held this spring at the Glen Lake Community Reformed Church. Burial will take place in Empire Maple Grove Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be directed to either the American Cancer Society for Research or to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are being handled by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
