Thorogood Died April 17, 2005 GLEN LAKE - Maysie I. Thorogood, 95, of Glen Lake, died at her home on Sunday, April 17, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Garnet H. and Annie (Reath) Broderick. On Oct. 4, 1930, she married Thomas Thorogood. Maysie was a member of the Empire United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was a homemaker, wife, loving mother and excellent seamstress. She is survived by two sons, Thomas G. (Helga) Thorogood of Battle Creek and David R. (Shirley) Thorogood of Empire; daughter, Judy (John) Miller of Glen Lake; two sisters, Irene and Doris, both of Canada; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Thorogood; grandson, Thomas F. Thorogood; and two brothers, Loren and Milton Broderick. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2005, at 11 a.m., from the Empire United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bill Dye officiating. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be directed in Maysie's name to the Empire United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Covell Funeral Homes of Traverse City.
