Published in the Record-Eagle on 9/3/2006. --------------------------------------------------------- Stachnik, Robert G. "Stick" CEDAR — Robert Stachnik, 52, of Cedar, passed away unexpectedly Sept. 1, 2006, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Robert was born Feb. 6, 1954, in Traverse City, the son of Donald and Opal (VanHorn) Stachnik. Robert married the former Judy Duperon on Nov. 19, 1983, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Traverse City. Bobby worked drilling wells for many years at B&Z Well Drilling. He could often be found in the woods, spending time enjoying the outdoors or participating in his passion for hunting and fishing. Bobby was a soft-spoken and quiet man who never sat with idle hands. Bobby was always doing something, whether it was another woodworking project or simply teasing his daughter. Bobby's greatest accomplishment was his wonderful family. From the joy he received the day Christopher was born, until Kellie came along and completed the family, Bobby had no greater love then for his wife and children. He will be deeply missed by all those that knew him, most notably his little dog, Baby. Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Judy of Cedar; son, Christopher Stachnik based at Fort Carson, Colo.; daughter, Kellie (John) Werth of Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Okla.; mother, Opal Stachnik of Maple City; brother, Ron (Catrina) Stachnik of Beulah; sisters, Donna Sadler of Maple City, Renee (Gary) Childers of Lake Ann; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald. Visitation for friends and family will take place Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Maple City at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Stachnik family. The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home; www.reynolds- jonkhoff.com. Published in the Record-Eagle on 9/4/2006.
