Davis TRAVERSE CITY - Berniece G. Davis, 74, of Traverse City, died Saturday at home. A Traverse City resident since 1980, moving from Empire, she was born on Nov. 25, 1926, in Traverse City, the daughter of Leonard and Mae (Brooder) McGarry. On May 3, 1947, in Traverse City, she married Clifford Davis. Berniece was employed with Burwood Industries and JC Penney. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Traverse City. Berniece enjoyed golfing and bowling. She was a former member of the Eagles Club in Interlochen. She is survived by her husband, Clifford Davis of Traverse City; two daughters, Rita Davis of Traverse City and Debra Ann (Jim) Dice of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; three sons, Steve (Mary) Davis of Suttons Bay, Daniel (Susan) Davis of Empire and Randus Davis of Traverse City; 11 grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ida Mae Gauthier and Mildred Davis. Visitation will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Traverse City with the Rev. James Hayden officiating. Interment will be in the St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery in Empire in the spring of 2002.
