Koepsell Died October 12, 2000 TORCH LAKE VILLAGE - Mabel R. Koepsell, 95, of Torch Lake Village, died Thursday at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan. Mabel was born on April 23, 1905, in Ludington, the daughter of Anthony and Marie (Koudelka) Kovar. She had resided in Dearborn for many years before moving to northern Michigan near her daughter. Mabel was employed by St. Regis Stationary as well as Champion Stationary, both in Detroit. She was a longtime member of St. Mel's Catholic Church in Livonia. Surviving are a daughter, Jeanne A. (Walter) Trendle of Torch Lake Village; four grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Koepsell; two sisters; one brother; and her parents. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, where an evening prayer will be held at 8 p.m. Monday. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elk Rapids with Father Robert J. Zuchowski serving as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Philip Neri Cemetery in Empire. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
