Born Feb. 25, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of Edward George and Eileen Marie (Donnellan) LeJeune. On July 24, 1965, in Flint, Mich., he married the former Barbara Katharine Benson. Dennis had been an executive vice president at the Harris Bank in Chicago, Ill. prior to moving to Traverse City in 1988. He then established his own business, LeJeune Investment Counsel. He was an avid golfer, enthusiastic family geneologist, devoted Notre Dame alumnus and he maintained a keen interest in politics. Dennis also received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army Reserves. His memberships include Traverse City Rotary, Traverse City Golf and Country Club serving on the finance committee, a board member of City Opera House Heritage Association, a member of the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association and Sorin Society, a member of University Club of Chicago and the Notre Dame High School in Niles, Ill. Alumni Association. He was active in the Glen Lake Association, the Glen Lake Yacht Club, a past trustee of the Village of Glen Arbor and a member of St. Philip Neri parish in Empire. He is survived by his wife, Barbara LeJeune of Glen Arbor; daughter, Angela Puetz of Traverse City and her husband John Puetz and their two children, Jack and Bridget; daughter, Katharine Otteson of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and her husband James and their three children, Victoria, James and Joseph; a daughter, Amy LeJeune of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Maureen Harty of Boise, Idaho, Shannon LeJeune of Salt Lake City, Utah and Kathleen "Kitty" Schecter of Traverse City; three brothers, Timothy LeJeune of Traverse City, Brian LeJeune of Las Vegas, Nev. and Terrence LeJeune of San Francisco, Calif.; nine nieces; and ten nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his mother and father; and a sister, Shiela McGee. Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City and from 6 to 8 p.m. today at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Empire, where a rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Empire with Rev. Father Chad Zielinski serving as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Philip Neri Cemetery.
