A full obituary will appear in the Nov. 15 Record-Eagle. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Empire. Arrangements are by Martinson Funeral Home in Suttons Bay. --------------------------------------------- TRAVERSE CITY RECORD EAGLE - Nov. 2000 Virginia Mary (Wood) Lubig Died November 2, 2000 MAPLE CITY - Virginia Mary (Wood) Lubig died at Botsford Community Living Center on Thursday, November 2nd. Virginia was the daughter of Robert Wood and Nora Londrigan Wood and was born on Dec. 31, 1918. Mrs. Lubig was married for 58 years to Frederick James Lubig who preceded her in death in 1997. The Woods had four daughters, three of whom preceded Virginia in death. Mrs. Lubig moved to Leelanau County with her husband in 1982 after their retirement. She loved her family and she especially loved her two granddaughters, Colleen and Erin. She loved the outdoors and she loved to cook. She would often delight her family with her special lemon-dainty desert. Mrs. Lubig was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband, Frederick, and her sisters, Francis, Marjorie and Norma. She is survived by her son, Michael. Cremation has taken place. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18th, at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Empire with the Rev. Chad Zielinski serving as celebrant. Burial will be held at the church cemetery. Memorial funds may be directed to St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church building fund or to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit, Michigan.
