Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Empire. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in St. Philip Neri Cemetery. McKinney Died April 20, 1999 EMPIRE - Mildred F. McKinney, 89, of Empire, died Tuesday at her home in Empire. Born April 27, 1909, in Detroit, she was the daughter of Urban and Anna (Herde) Paquette. On Sept. 14, 1946, in Detroit, she married Leon McKinney. Mildred was an accountant for Michigan Bell Telephone Co. for 41 years, retiring in 1969. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Empire, and a life member of Telephone Pioneers of America. Survivors include a step-daughter, Margie Slazinski; nieces, Marjorie Soboczak, Ann Boggs, and Audrey Austin; nephews, Donald Paquette, Jerry Paquette, and Louis Paquette; and many special grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, in 1992; and five brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Empire, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church. The Rev. Chad Zielinski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Philip Neri Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Philip Neri Church Building Fund or Empire Volunteer Fire Department.
