Your Petitioners would respectfully remark, that since the construction of the United States Road from Detroit westwardly, the settlements on this contemplated Mail Route have rappily increased, yet from Detroit, by the way of Ypsilanti, to the Saline, on the line of the Chicago Road; a distance of forty miles, no mail has ever been transported, and on the road from the Saline to Tecumseh a distance of fourteen miles, the mail is carried but once in two weeks: The long interval between the time of the arrival of the mails, is a source of much perplexity to the Inhabitants. Your Petitioners therefore, Respectfully refer Your Honorable Body to the annexed draft, which clearly indicates the line of Mail Route, they earnestly desire your Honorable Body to establish. And Your Petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray &c- Timothy Darling Charles Ash Abrm Voorhees John Babcock jr Judson Durkee G. W.
