The funeral will be conducted from the Presbyterian church at Palmyra Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. --Lawrence Hummell, little son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hummell, while a short way up a ladder Tuesday fell through the rungs, striking on his chin and cutting his tongue badly. Dr. Esli Morden attended the brave little urchin, taking five stitches in the tongue. --Our people will remember Lou Shelk, who at one time was a clerk in Sheldon's Jewelry store. He is now at Cheboygan, and the Cheboygan Democrat, of June 28, contains the following: "We can't make up our mind whether it is Will Blake or Lou Shelk that the old lady is going to marry off in August. Shelk is the oldest, but--." The "old lady" spoken of is the opposition paper to the Democrat. --James G. Payne has removed his famiy from 76 Dennis street to 1118 Fernwood avenue, Toledo, with the exception of Harold, who is an attache at F. Gaylord's. Mr. Payne is one of the good citizens we lost by the transferral of the L.S.& M.S. machine shop at Toledo. The family would have removed to Toledo before, but waited until after the graduation of Miss Gertrude. --Nora Smith has applied for a divorce from Geo. W. Smith. The parties are Adrian residents, Mr. Smith being an employe at Page's. --Michael McNulty, aged 72 years, a resident near Hudson for 42 years, and a prosperous and popular farmer, is dead. He was the father of John McNulty, a grocer of Hudson. --Two weddings took place today at the County Clerk's office. Justice Binns, from Addison, joined Frank L. Greenleaf and Maud harris, from that place this morning. This afternoon Justice Vandegrift married Ora S. Bailey and Clara Anugst, both of Blissfield.
