Montgomery, No. 11 Frank street, celebrated their silver wedding anniversary Saturday evening at their home, and relatives and friends to the number of about 50 assembled there to extend to them congratulations and wish them much joy. The evening was a most enjoyable one, and happily carried out. The unique feature was a mock marriage by Rev. J.B. Banker, of the First Baptist church, who joined Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery again, with hopes that their future would be as pleasant as the past. Many beautiful tokens of regard were left with the host and hostess, and refreshments were served. After pleasant conversation, music and a good time, all left wishing that they might be present at the fiftieth wedding feast. One notable fact is that the occasion marked the forty-fifth birthday of Mr. Montgomery. Forty-five years ago Saturday Mr. Montgomery was born in Adrian, at No. 20 Dennis street. Twenty-five years ago he was married at Geneva, O., to Miss Emma C. Amidon. In April, 1878, they came to Adrian, whre[sic] they have made their home ever since. The children are Mrs. W.J. Bennett, St. Louis, Mo; Miss Cora Montgomery, who lives with them; Frank Montgomery, employed at Page's factory, and Tracy Montgomery, aged eight.
