OBITUARY - ADRIAN DAILY TELEGRAM - NOVEMBER 17, 2007
BERTHA M. NEFF
ADRIAN - Bertha M. Neff, age 90, formerly of Deerfield and Blissfield, passed
away Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at Lynwood Manor in Adrian, Mi.
Bertha was born Aug. 14, 1917, in Adrian, the daughter of Martin T. and Minnie
(Martlock) Bruechert. She owned and operated the Korner Kafe in Deerfield from
1952 to 1973, and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Blissfield.
Surviving are two children, Betty Jo (Dave) Darish of Tecumseh and Carl T.R.
(Carol) Drefle of Cherokee Village, Ark.; half sister, Dorothy Hawkins; two
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, Bertha was preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Carlton Neff; sister , Lucille Neyrinck; half sisters, Ruth
Mae Bruechert and June Bruechert; half brother, Martin Bruechert, Jr.;
stepbrother, Arthur Beyer; and grandson, Phillip Drefke.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St Paul's Lutheran Church in
Blissfield, with the Rev. Kurt Petersoon officiating. Burial will follow at
Pleasant View Cemetery in Blissfield. Visiting hours will be Monday from 2 to 8
p.m. at the Tagsold Funeral Home in Blissfield.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Lenawee or St. Paul's
Lutheran Church.
