Had been one of Adreian's esteemed citizens 30 years. Lysander Cole, a gentlemand well and favorably known in Adrian for 30 years, died suddenly at about 8:30 this morning, while working around the yard at his home, No. 3 College Avenue. He partook of a hearty breakfast, had been painting a buggy and secured the help of W. Green, a neighbor, to move the buggy box into a shed. They had just gotten the box inside when Mr. Cole began to stagger. He was helped to a seat and expired almost immediately. Dr. Treat was sent for, but his services were not needed. Deceased was a drayman in Adrian for many years, and had been a resident of Lenawee all his life, and of Adrian for 30 years. For the past two years he had been unable to do much work, and had been taking things easy on account of his ill health. He had always been a hard working, conscientious, honest man and had the respect of all who knew him. His wife and family are completely heart broken over his demise. Deceased was born in Rome Township July 25, 1838 and had made Lenawee County and Adrian his home all his life. Those who are left to mourn are his wife and the following children: Elmer W. Cole, Mrs T.H. Ingersoll, Bert V. Cole, and Chas C. Cole. Mrs Nelson France, a daughter, has passed to the other shore, and a daughter died in infancy. David Cole, a brother, resides in Rome; Mrs Samuel Ramsey, a sister at Wolf Creek; a twin brother, Philander Cole, in Rome; Larkins and Orpheus Cole near Onsted, also brothers. Half brothers and sisters are as follows: Marvin Cole, White Pigeon; Riley Cole, Rollin; Mrs. Caroline Bennett, White Pigeon, and Mrs. Eunice Perkins, Jackson. The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at 2:00 from the home on College Avenue. Adrian Daily Telegram July 2, 1902 P. 3
