Henry C. Colgate, age 46 years, in Adrian, 21 Decmember 1874, born
New York City in 1829, son of original manufacturer of Colgate and
Company. In 1857 he moved to California and in 1861 to Chicago. In
1862 he married Martha Stewart from Boston and, in 1866, came to Adrian.
He leaves one child, a daughter aged seven years.
