Mr. Gray who has been employed by Charles East, of Macon for the past three years, had been to the houses of John East and Earl Murphy during the afternoon and left the Murphy home about 7 o'clock that evening going toward the home of Mr. East. The members of the East family retired for the night thinking Mr. Gray had also retired. Upon receiving no response the next morning they started an investigation, only to find Mr. Gray absent. Later in the forenoon Mr. Larson, a neighbor discovered the body lying face downward in the ditch. Automobile tracks and three severe cuts and bruises on the scalp, a broken wrist, matted hair and an automobile button were signs that he had been struck by an automobile. Robbery was not the motivev as his watch and valuables were on his person. Mr. Gray was unconscious when picked up and passed away two hours later. Mr. Gray was a conscientous Christian. The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the Free Methodist Church which he attended. Burial will be made in Rice's cemetery. Three nephews, George A. Gray of Oregon, and Harold and Harry Craig and a niece, Mrs. Gladys Russell of Britton are his nearest relatives.
