GILLESPIE LAID TO REST ON THURSDAY John W. GILLESPIE, aged 85 years passed away at his home north of Tecumseh Saturday evening. Mr. MURPHY (should be GILLESPIE) had been in his usual health until Wednesday evening, when he suffered a stroke of apoplexy. Deceased was born on a farm north of Tecumseh, where he had spent his entire life. Mrs. GILLESPIE passed away last January. Four children, Frank of Monroe, Clare and Victor of Clinton and Leva at home are the remaining members of the family. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the home, Rev. J. J. Preston officiating. The Masonic service was conducted by R. A. HEESEN. The deceased was one of the oldest members of Tecumseh lodges, having been a member for 64 years. Those attending the funeral from away were Mr. and Mrs. George GILLESPIE of Mason, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Farley, Pine Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Leon SCHREDER of Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Ira STEEL of Britton and Dr. and Mrs. Will PENMAN of Detroit Newspaper and date unknown, year 1927 based on birthdate and age at death
