She was born in Wheatland township September 12, 1880 Her husband Grover HAMMOND preceded her in death about two years ago. She is survived by one brother, George HAYNES of California, two step- children, Vincent HAMMOND of Hudson and Mrs. Fern ISENHAUR of Manchester. The remains were at the Dan C. and Rex BROWN funeral home until the funeral which was held Sunday at 2;30 o'clock with Rev. John L. BAYES of the Baptist Chruch officiating. Burial was made in Maple Grove Cemetery. The below obituary of Grover was printed in the HUDSON POST GAZETTE Friday, November 8, 1940. ------------------------------------------------------------ DEATH OF GROVER C. HAMMOND Grover C. HAMMOND of this city, 57 uears old, died Wednesday morning at the University Hospital in Ann Arber. He was born in Rollin township on Dec 17, 1882, and had lived in this vicinity all his life. He is survived by his wife Emma HAMMOND, a daughter Mrs. Fern ISENHOUR of Manchester; three sons, Vincent of this city, Claud of Detroit, and Francis in Wisconsin; several grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Erna HALLENBECK of Jackson; two brothers Wallace and Roy of Rollin township. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2;30 o'clock at the Dan C. and Rex BROWN Funeral Home. The Rev. T.A. Green will officiate. Burial will be made in Maple Grove Cemetery. FRANK HAMMOND Frank Amos HAMMOND, the youngest son of Amos and lycretia HAMMOND, was born in Rollin Township December 14, 1857, and died March 13, 1916. He leaves a wife and four children: Wallace W., Roy A., Grover C., and Mrs. Walter DONIHUE to mourn the loss of their kind and loving father. He lived the greater part of his life in and around Rollin, living a life that has ended with love and respect of the community. He was ever ready to assist the needy and afflicted, even during his illness of two months' duration, he showed patience of Him. He loved and died with the fullfaith that he was at peace with God. He is gone, never to be forgotten: Gone to Him in peace and rest. May we live as to meet him, In the land of the blessed. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the Rollin Baptist Church.
