(Foster) Jacob, age 99, of Levering, Mich., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Sandra Foster. She was under the care of Hospice of Little Traverse for the past few months. She was born June 8, 1910, to Lonnie and Hattie (Walker) Harvey, the oldest of 10 children in Vaughn, W.Va. She married Marcellus J. Foster on Dec. 25, 1928. He preceded her in death when he was fatally wounded in France on Aug. 12, 1944, during World War II. They had five children. Also preceding her in death were six brothers, her second husband, Armour F. Jacob; a son, Jack L. Foster; a daughter, Patricia A. Robison; three grandsons, Gary H. Robison, Joseph E. Robison and Dennis E. Morgan; a great-grandson, John F. Robison, Jr.; and two sons-in-law, Herbert Robison and Clark W. Powers. Her survivors include two daughters, Betty J. Powers of Levering, Mich., Norma J. (Gary) Sears of Britton, Mich.; a son, Thomas A. (Sandra) Foster of Levering, Mich.; two sisters, MaryLou Hoover of Phoenix, Ariz., June (Don) Leonard of Adrian, Mich.; one brother, Ben (Doris) Harvey of Gahanna, Ohio; eight grandchildren, many great- and great-great-grandchildren. Also many nieces and nephews. At Agnes’s request there will be no public viewing or visitation. There will be a private service for immediate family only at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison, Mich., with Pastor Calvin Alderink officiating. Private burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery in Addison. Memorials may be sent to any Humane Society of the donor’s choice, as this was Agnes’s favorite organization and she had been a member for many years.
