Born March 9, 1906, in Monesson, Pa., she was the dŕughter of Frank and Elva (Garlow) Schadwald. She was raised by her stepmother, Della Mary Myrtle Garlow. She married Donald Knowles Dec. 8, 1927, in To1edo. He died Aug. 12,1986. Surviving are two sons, Alan L. of Monroe and Gerald T. of Stevčnsvillé; three daughters, Marjorie Case of Defiance, Ohio, Mrs. Thomas (Marilyn) Heller of Inverness, Fla., and Leonard (Mary Ellen) Liedel of Monroe; a sister, Augusta Cox of’ Adrian; two half-sisters, Lois Schadwald and June Williams, both of Deerfield; 15 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.in addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a half-brother, Frank.
