Death was due to Bright's disease and following an operation for hrenia sustained two weeks since. Mr. KUNEY had been ill for practically three years past and always much worse in the winter, and has been gradually declining. Never once in the three years has he ever uttered a word of complaint, bearing even the intense suffering of the last weeks bravely and without complaint. Mr. KUNEY was born in Seneca County, N.Y., in March, 1840, and was one of ten children born to Mr. and Mrs. Christian KUNEY, who eventually settled in Madison. Deceased was 29 years of age when he came to Michigan. He built the house now occupied by his son on West Beecher Street. Deceased married Martha Ann TURNER, formerly of New York City, who had moved to Michigan with her people, and to them were born four children, three of whom with the widow survive, Emmett and James KUNEY residing west of the city and Miss Mabel KUNEY who resides at home. The brothers and sister surviving are Perry KUNEY of Clayton, Mrs. Ella NOTHNAGLE of New York City, Harland KUNEY of Clayton, Elton KUNEY resident out West Beecher Street, Leroy KUNEY of this city. There are also three grandchildren, Merle and Marvel KUNEY and Harold KUNEY. Mr. KUNEY was a very successful farmer, six years ago retiring to city life. The funeral services are arranged for Saturday with a brief service at the home here at 137 West Maumee Street at 12:30 with further services at Cadmus Presbyterian Church, of which the deseased was a member.
