Mr. KUNEY was born September 17, 1900, in Alvorton, Oho, to Edwin and Mary Elizabeth (PAGE) KUNEY. In 1931 he married Yvonne H. JOHNSON. She preceded him in death on March 25, 1976. Mr. KUNEY graduated from Adrian College with a bachelor of arts degree in 1923. He attended the University of Michigan Law School and graduated from the Detroit College of Law in 1928. He began his law practive in Morenc in 1928 and was named assistant prosecutor for Lenawee County in 1930. He was elected prosecutor in 1934 and held that position until 1944. He was a friend of the court for 15 years and later elected probate judge in Lenawee County in 1952 and held that position for eight years. He practiced law for more than 50 years. He was an advisory member of the Huron Valley Child Guidance Clinic; a member of the Goodwill LARC Corp., serving as president; an active member of the Y. M. C. A. until 1988, serving on the board; a member of the American Bar Association and the Michigan Bar Association. In 1958 he was appointed to the National Juvenile Court Foundation Institute. He was a life member of the Adrian Masonic Lodge #19 F & A M, and he was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Detroit. Survivors include one son, Jack of Cumberland, R. I., two daughters, Mrs. Hal (Cherl) WEAKLEY of Monroe, and Mrs. Stanley (Jill) PLATE of Adrian; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Ruth) NOLING of Adrian, 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan and Elmer, one sister, Flossie CONE. At Mr.KUNEY's request, his bod has been donated to the University of Michigan Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. There will be no services.
