Mrs. MILLER, being over 92 years of age, and one of the early settlers of this section, experienced the transition from crude pioneer life to modern civilization, with all its wonderful inventions. The lady was beloved by all who knew her, as is testified in the following biography: Mrs. Saloma Ann MILLER, nee RUPPERT, daughter of Henry and Magdalena RUPPERT,was born in Rockford township, Berks County, PA, August 1st, 1828, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gust ROHRBACK, in Blissfield, MI, March 17, 1921, age 92 years, 8 months, 16 days. She was united in marriage to Benjamin MILLER in 1819. Together they shared life's joys and sorrows until Mr. MILLER was called away September 12, 1892. To this union were born four daughters and one son, Mrs. Emma HAZZARD, Mrs. Mary ROHRBACK and Mrs. Wm. ROTHFUSS, all residing in Blissfield. A son Franklin, died at the age of 18 years in 1876 and a daughter, Mrs. Ellen PALMER, died in 1882. In the year 1850, Mr. and Mrs. MILLER moved from PA to OH by the overland route, there being no railroad convenience at that time. They settled on a farm three miles southeast of where the village of Wauseon now stands. Here they witnessed the building of the village of Wauseon and the Air Line railroad of the New York Central, which was put through that community about 1853. In 1860, they moved to MI, locating four miles southwest of Blissfield on the Riga and Ogden townline. They resided here for 10 years, then moved to Blissfield, where Mrs. MILLER resided for the remainder of her life with the exception of three years' residence at Three Rivers, MI. It was at this place that Mr. MILLER passed away. In the year of 1850, she was soundly converted to God, and at once united with the Salem church of the Evangelical Association, near Wauseon, OH. She was one of the six charter members of that society. She witnessed the formation and organization of the Michigan conference of the Evangelical Association in 1865 in the old BEAGLE church near Blissfield. (omitting a couple of paragraphs--) She leaves, three daughters, 18 grandchildren 6? great-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, who await the resurrection day to greet again on the other shore where sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Conner of the Blissfield United Brethren church. The funeral was largely attended, many friends and relatives coming from away. Six grandsons, Wesley PALMER, B. J. HAZZARD, Dr. C. W.
