Coroner Clarence Brown said deaath was due to natural causes. He was born in Monroe County, March 25, 1898, a son of John and Henriett Kalein Opel. He moved to his present home from Deerfield in 1940. He was a member of the Hillsdale County Farm Bureau and attended the Addison Congregational Church. Mr. Opel is survived by his wife, the former Julia Stearns, to whom he was married in 1925; five daughters, Mrs. Richard (Janice) Amsler, Toledo, Mrs. William (Ruth) McMahon, Willoughby, Ohio, Miss Mary Angela Opel, Detroit, Mrs. Delmar (Ada Joy) Hopp, Dearborn, and Mrs. David (Jane) Foy, Warren; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Miller, Britton, Mrs. William Thiesan, Norwalk, Ohio, and Mrs. Floyd Burnor, Deerfield; a brother, William Opel, Petersburg; and 15 grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 1:30 from the Brown Funeral Home in Addison. The Rev. Clayton H. Stowe will officiate and burial will be in Deerfield.
