Piotter was born May 16, 1895 in Deerfield. He was baptized in infancy and at the age of 14 years was received into membership of the Lutheran church by the rite of confirmation. He lived in Deerfield until seven years ago when he moved to Blissfield, where he had since made his home. November 27, 1924, he was married to Miss Madeline Vanneste, to which union were born four children, a daughter preceding her father into eternity. Mr. Piotter served his country in the World War (I) and was a member of the American Legion. July 9, 1936 he met a violent death while at work. He leaves to mourn his death his sorrowing widow, two sons, Robert, aged 10 years and Carl, five, and one daughter Joan Marie: three brothers, Henry of St Clair; Frank of Madison Center; and Bennard of Monroe; three sister Mrs. William Piotter and Mrs. Henry Ritter of Blissfield and Mrs. Martin Bruechert of Riga. He attained the age of 41 years one month and 24 days. BLISSFIELD, July 11 The funeral of Paul Piotter, who was killed in an accident last Thursday morning was held Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock in St Pauls Evangelical Lutheran church with the Rev. A. J. Lucht officiating. Hymns were sung by Harold Lucht and Gerald Emmons. The burial was in Pleasant View cemetery. The bearers, all employees of the Lenawee county road commission, were Russell Loveland, Oscar Knierim, Donald, Deshler. Myrl Wilson, Allen Murry and Archie Bridleman. Members of the American Legion Auxiliary who were in charge of the flowers were Mrs. Owen Meyers, Mrs. Alice Scott. Mrs. Ethel Maloney and Mrs. Alta Wilbur. Relatives and friends from Dctroit, Deerfield. Madison. Monroe and Metarnora attended the services.
