KAREN PIOTTER and KIRA PIOTTER
MARQUETTE  Karen Lee Piotter, 24, of Marquette and her 10-month-old daughter,
Kira Dawn, were killed Sunday, September 26, 1976,  in a car-truck accident in
Marquette County's Chocolay Township. She was the daughter-in-law of a former
.Adrian mayor, the late R.A. (Duke) Plotter.
Mrs. Piotter was born Oct. 7,1951, in Detroit and later lived in Maryland. She
had been a resident of Marquette since1969.
She attended Northern Michigan University and had been active in the
university's theatre department. She was also employed as a hostess at the
Holiday Inn.
Kira Dawn was born Nov. 25, 1975 in Marquette and had lived there all of her life.
Surviving are the husband and father, David (Duke) Piotter of Marquette; Mrs.
Piotter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Philippart of Whitehall, Md.; a sister,
Laura Philippart of Whitehall; two brothers, Leonard and Gary Philippart of
Whitehall; Mrs. Plotter's paternal grandmother, Mrs. Harry (Grace) Philippart of
Detroit; several aunts and uncles, and Kira Dawn's paternal grandmother, Mrs.
R.A, Piotter of Adrian.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at McCabe Funeral Home, 18570 Grand River
Blvd., Detroit, where the funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Belleville. Fassbender Funeral Home,
Marquette, is in charge of arrangements,
