He died December 10,1921 in Blissfield Township, Lenawee County, Michigan at about the age of 73. He married Augusta Koepnic in Dec. 1884 in Deerfield, Lenawee County, Michigan. We believe that Johann Frederick, and Franz Ludwig were the first of this family to come to the U.S. According to Irma (Piotter) Rock her father, Henry, the first child of Johann, was born in a log cabin in Lenawee County, Michigan. Later Johann built a brick home that is still standing on Piotter Highway in Lenawee County, Michigan. The highway was named after him. Johann and Augusta had eight children. Burial is in Spiegel Lutheran Cemetery, Blissfield Township, Lenawee, Michigan.
