The certificate of death shows him to be 108 years, and three months of age. He lived through Washington's second administration and saw practically the entire development of the United States. Michigan was a child to him. He voted for McKinley in 1896; but was disappointed because he could not get a Whig ticket as he had not voted for some years. The funeral was held Monday in the Catholic church in Deerfield. from the January 11, 1901 issue of the Blissfield Advance newspaper Sisson's Station (column) The death of Louis PETTEE father of Paul PETTEE with whom he resided, an aged man of Blissfield township, which occured last Friday caused no little excitement and confusion at the home of Martin PHILO of this station. It was through a little misunderstanding. Shortly after the death of Mr. PETTEE a friend was sent by Mrs. PETTEE to Blissfield to dispatch the sad news to Will PETTEE, a grandson, who lives in Toledo. The friend phoned to Will that "Mrs. PETTEE's father is dead." Thinking that it was his wife's father, hurring home, he disclosed the news to his wife, they then notified her brother Will PHILO and wife who also live in Toledo. They all boarded the first train for Blissfield and arrived here about 10 o'clock Friday night to be met at the door by the one they supposed had died. Thus it was given to the reporter. from the January 11, 1901 issue of The Blissfield Advance dz
