She had been diagnosed with cancer about 3 years ago and responded well to treatment, until recently. During the night of December 12-13 she suffered a massive stroke and did not regain consciousness. Rosemary served as recording secretary of our society for many years. Her detailed minutes of our meetings will remain as a memorial of her enthusiasm and helpfulness. She often opened her home for workshops and parties, and was always eager and friendly to callers seeking information about joining our society. Rosemary had completed a book about her family and had distributed copies to family members. She will be remembered and missed. ---------------------------------------- They also reprinted this obit form the Tecumseh Herald, December 24, 1992 Rosemary Poley Funeral services were held Monday for Rosemary Poley,69, of Tecumseh, She died Dec. 18, 1992 at the Adrian Health Care Center. She was born in Adrian, April 27, 1923, to the late Earl and Hattie (Ezard) Conklin. On August 23, 1940, she married Joseph Poley and he preceded her in death on May 4, 1979. Mrs. Poley was a member of the United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, the Irene Circle of the church and the Lenawee County Family Researchers. During her lifetime, besides raising her family, she was employed as a retail clerk for several years at D & C Dime Store and Ken-Ray Save-Mor Drugs, both in Tecumseh, She is survived by one son, Joseph E. Poley of Ida; one daughter, Mrs. Gregory (Cynthia) Parram of Tecumseh; two brothers, Harold Conklin of Onsted and Albert Conklin of Clayton; one sister, Mrs. Carol (Doris) Trowbridge of Manitou Beach; six grandchildren' and one great-grandchild. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, one grandson and one sister. Dr. John Bunce officiated and burial was in Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lenawee. Couture-Ochalek Funeral Home handled the arrangements. dz
